With a BA in Theatre from the University of Colorado in Boulder and additional acting training at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Los Angeles, Chris White earned an MFA in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.

Her plays have been produced in NYC at 13th Street Repertory, 18th Street Playhouse, Manhattan Theatre Source, and the Goldman Theatre; at regional theatres including Horizons Theatre in Washington DC, the Phoenix Theatre in Indianapolis, and Bloomington Playwrights Project; internationally at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Adelaide Fringe, as well as several American universities. Dramatic works include Rhythms (Helen Hayes Award winner for Outstanding New Play), Thespian (published by Smith & Kraus in Best Ten-Minute Plays of 2011), Two-Character Play (published by Allyn & Bacon in Explore Theatre digital textbook), Sin Eater (commissioned by Hollins University), and screenplays Pain Management and Weasel in the Icebox, which made first cut at Sundance Screenwriters Lab. Other screenplays include The Lynchburg Files and Defended. Also, as music producer, vocalist and composer, Chris performed and recorded with Flesh and Bone and others.

She teaches dramatic writing at DePauw University
